HYDROVERSE

We know the highest point on earth, but what about the deepest? The universe under water – the Hydroverse? Is there life at temperatures around freezing point, enormous pressure and without sunlight?  Let's find out! Our destination: The Mariana Trench - the deepest point of the ocean.

Discovering the unknown

To find out how matter changes in the Hydroverse, we take a component with us in the wake of the submarine. It continuously rotates on its own axis. To protect the valuable water ecosystem, it is made of 100% recycled post-consumer ABS.

Giants of the deep sea

An unimagined variety of fantastic organisms cavort here: Giant isopods weighing 2 kg, giant squid 12 meters long, sea cucumbers up to 2 meters in size ... this - albeit unproven - deep-sea gigantism of giant phenomena is attributed to a lack of predators and an extensive food supply, among other things.
Let these impressions have an unfiltered effect on you and develop boundless inspiration!

The goblin shark has been swimming here for around 125 million years.

Coral mystery

Where does the light at this depth come from? Corals, for example, produce it themselves. Bioluminescence is the name of this chemical reaction that makes the deep sea shimmer, glow and breathe fire. These intense colors and breathtaking effects communicate with the viewer in a unique way.

Jelly Glow

The jellyfish-like creatures lead us further down with their diffuse light. They glow and shine from everywhere and magically draw us into the depths.

Feel the unknown

The cold blue of the ocean is suddenly interrupted by brightly colored creatures. Sea slugs? They look like they have feathers. The intense orange gives you an idea of the heat under your fingertips, which you can feel when you touch them.

Lost in time

How do structures grow in a place without time? How do they change? How do they manifest themselves? We dive deeper into the mysterious treasure trove of the deep sea and will soon be there!

Jacques Piccard and Don Walsh have already been here. They hold the record for deep-sea diving.

JELLYFISH

Hydroverse –
immersive experience

We have arrived in the Mariana Trench. Overwhelming! This bizarre unknown world! A jellyfish-like creature elegantly dances across the ground. Soon there are more. It looks as if they are communicating with their light. How do they feel, how do they change? Let's explore Jellyfish!

Camouflage

There - a jellyfish on the prowl! It wraps its tentacles around its food at lightning speed. It is an eye-catcher. The structure of the post-consumer recyclate creates a variety of effects on the surface, bringing the life of the Mariana Trench to plastic surfaces.

Close up

The complexity of the design also becomes apparent at second glance. Not only the spider-like structure of the tentacles, but also the surface itself has ups and downs that create a special dynamic. Light and shadow further reinforce these impressions.

11,035

Jellyfish could be a part of the Titanic that sank to the bottom of the Mariana Trench. It reflects the shapes and colors, textures and haptics that have attached themselves to the surface on the 11,035 km deep journey.

We have discovered a new life form! Is there more?

You remember: 95% of the deep sea is unexplored - we don't know what it looks like to the left and right of Jellyfish - not yet ...
